Best winter fly fishing in the West.
Wicked Winter Fly Fishing and without the Wicked Weather
Did you know the Southwest is know for over 300 days of sunshine each year? With all that sun we typically have clear days with mild winter temperatures. Cold mornings will give way to balmy afternoons with temps ranging from the upper 30's to high 40's. An extra layer is a small price to pay for crowd-free fishing for eager trout on the San Juan below Navajo Dam or the Animas River near Durango Colorado. We also offer great rates, so take a break from the ski slopes and hit the river.

Fishing the Animas in the winter is a blast. Eagles, snow and big trout on the fly. AvA's winter wade trips take place on either public or private waters. Season is December 1st till February 28th. The day is very relaxing starting around 9:30 am to 10 am and fishing till 3 or 4 in the afternoon. Perfect way for both local and visiting anglers to learn a couple of the Animas Rivers secrets.

Animas winter trips do not include: Colorado fishing license and
customary gratuity for the guide

The San Juan Quality Waters offers anglers the most reliable fishing during the winter months. Navajo Dam pumps consistent water temps into the river allowing the trophy trout to feed 365 days a year. San Juan wade and float trips are the perfect trip for the beginner, intermediate and experienced angler looking for a little winter break from the ski slopes.

San Juan winter trips do not include: New Mexico fishing license, New Mexico
sales tax (5%) and customary gratuity for the guide
